Bassett Hotel The Hotel is believed to have been built in the 1880's. The Bassett Hotel was purchased by Stephen Hicks Bassett in 1918. The building was formerly known as the Watson House. It was also known as the Central Hotel. When Ralph returned from WWI with his new bride, Henriette, they lived for a while with his parents at the Bassett Hotel. The Bassett Hotel in downtown Fort Valley burned last night (Tuesday, June 20th). It is a total loss. The building was last used as a pawn shop and has been vacant for many years. |
