Laurens
County, ca. 1915. Caroline Henderson. She was a midwife and lived at
the home of T. J. Perry. She had been a slave and died at about the
age of 90 ca. 1918-1920.
Caroline Henderson was a young girl when the war ended. She was
on the farm of a man who had not treated her well, but she had heard
of a very nice man who had a farm down the road. She went to Mr.
Perry's place and asked if she could live there. He told her she
could and that he would build her a cabin if she would help take care
of the children. She lived the rest of her life there.
