The Dining Room

Beautiful Table setting at Pineola

This room was originally a bedroom. It was too far from the kitchen to be used as the dining room but we love it. It makes a great statement as you enter the hall through the front door.

John Maddock and son china at Pineola

China

The table is set for a formal dinner in the 1800s. Much of the china is John Maddock and son, Majestic pattern. This pattern was the original china that was used in the home. We have a few pieces that were actually used in the house. Many of the pieces were given to us by Bassett family members at their family reunion in 2000.
The green stem glasses are made by the Tiffin Glass Co.

Do you know what all of the plates and glasses are designed for?

Corner Cupboard

Corner cupboards appeared in America in the early 1700s and remained popular storage pieces for nearly a century. This cabinet is special since it retains its original glass.

Antique Corner Cabinet at Pineola

The dining room is painted in La Fonda Geranium Red. The paint is from La Fonda on the Plaza, a historic Santa Fe Hotel.

The chandelier is one of the 4 original chandeliers that were installed in the home when it received electricity in the 1930’s. It is Czechoslovakian crystal. Mr. Bassett said he wanted to see a chandelier in every room he could see from the front foyer.
